International Literacy Day

In honor of International Literacy Day on September 8th, World Education Cambodia created a profile of Ms. Kong Yary, one of our 52 trained Literacy Coaches working in Kampong Thom province. Intensive coaching is a key component of the USAID funded All Children Reading – Cambodia and All Children Learning projects. Both projects aim to improve the early grade reading skills of children in Grades 1 to 3 in Cambodia.

As the project’s lead field implementer, World Education Cambodia oversees 100+ Literacy Coaches in Kampong Thom and Kampot provinces, each of whom are responsible for visiting their 10 assigned teachers once every ten days. In total, World Education Cambodia is providing intensive coaching to over 1,300 Early Grade Reading teachers.

Check out the story below to learn more about the great work our Literacy Coaches are doing.
