In August, World Education Cambodia opened a field office in Kampot province to support its work on the All Children Learning project. Through a three-year subcontract to RTI International, World Education is supporting the implementation of the new Early Grade Learning package for all preschool, grade 1, and grade 2 teachers in Kampot province.
In addition to coordinating the training for 100% of all upper-preschool teachers, grade 1 teachers, grade 2 teachers, and school directors in all districts of Kampot province, World Education will oversee and manage 48 Literacy Coaches. During the 2019-2020 school year, Literacy Coaches will support Kampot’s approximately 261 pre-school and 431 grade 1 teachers through intensive, twice-monthly coaching. The following year, coaches will focus on supporting Kampot’s approximately 431 grade 2 teachers, while continuing to offer support to grade 1 teachers on a lesser scale.
